About the event

Sponsored by the American Tapestery Alliance, this exhit goes from May 31 thru the 28th of June. It will feature many contemporary tapestries that that use unusual techniques such as hachures, pulled warp, open warp, wedge weave and many other features that set contemporary tapestry apart from its traditional forebears. My diptych uses soumak, a twining technique, that creates a sort of knitted effect and lots of Pick and Pick that creates a different design feature.

The jurors are Emily Silver , from the Sculpture Department of the Santa Monica College in California and Erin Riley, is a Brooklyn based tapestry artist whose work is focussed on women and women's issues in hand woven and hand dyed yarns. There will be a catalog for this show.
